...I have been for awhile, but it's challenging. I can't even remember the last time I had red meat. I never liked the stuff much, and growing up in Omaha, the epicenter of the meatpacking industry, has really turned me off to it, ironically.

I don't buy lunchmeat anymore. I haven't had chicken lately. The only meat I've had within the last few days was a tuna sandwich at Subway, because I don't like their vegetables so their Veggie Sub was outta the question.

I'm working on dairy and eggs. I drink milk everyday, and often times cheese, but there are healthy soy alternatives to both, and thankfully I just discovered there is a Wild Oats organic health food store nearby.

I wouldn't reccomend to anyone cutting all dairy and meat out of their diet at once. It's unhealthy and unstable for the body. Do it slowly, alternating soy products with dairy until you are comfortable with both, and then gradually take dairy away. Buy organic whenever you can afford it.

When I was in Cape Cod (talk about seafood) this summer, my boyfriend John's dad was going fishing and asked if I wanted to come along (or something like that), and John said, "Emily doesn't like animal cruelty."

"It's not cruelty, we eat the fish after we catch them." -his dad

I didn't say anything back, 'cause I was already on bad ground with them anyway for being shy.

-Emily
