Fear is the extremely basic motivation, supposedly, which braches off into less basic things, such as, for fives, the "fear" of being useless in the world and etc.
I think the basic motivation of every person is to be at peace with themselves. A one may send a killer to jail and tell themself that they did the right thing whick was just even though that person will live forever in confinement. That gives the one peace.
A two (hypothetically speaking) would perhaps give the killer mercy, because in their mind and heart, that is what would give them peace.
