They write like 5s react to world as if it were a danger or a threat. This is baloney. To a 5, the world (the mother) is not threating, it is indifferent, cold, stone-like, unloving, numb (schizoid personality is an echo of this). We are the child that does not try to suckle... not because of fear... because we don't expect the mother (the source of love and nourishment) to be there. We do not retreat from the world... we never entered it in the first place.
1s seem like a particularly fearful type to me... everything they do is about containing themselves... restraining themselves... using rules and ritual to comfort themselves. Obsessive-compulsives aren't generally very relaxed. They live life in the shadow of the belt.
