Dave,

No all 5's are not arrogant--arrogance usually just exists in unhealty ones. It is quite clear howevr that the average person seems to see the worst in a type and use that as the defining point of the person(examine the board--1's 3's are often stereotyped as materialistc and narcisstic,6's as weak and phobic, 7's as irresponsible, and 8's as bullies or tyrants). This is indicative of the flaws in the one doing the typing obviously more than it is of the types being viewd.Many average people see 5's as being arrogant precisely becasue they themsleves lack the rationality that creates self-certainty in 5's. They are usuallyn right, are confident in saying so, and as a result those who are mmore irrational and less certain feel intimidated and counterphobically attaqck them for being "arrogant". Coincidentally, a prime example of this can be found on the main board as the "x orY" post.

A friend of mine who is learning the Egram said to me that she doesn't think I'm a 5 because I'm not arrogant enough.
