: It's interesting to me...the conflict I had today on the board is pretty much the biggest conflict I've had in years. Certainly the most direct. And, like most conflicts I've been involved in, it wasn't something I intended.

: I wonder how other 5's deal with/feel about conflict? I try to avoid it whenever possible, finding it to typically be unfulfilling and non-useful. However, I have certainly seen that it sometimes can lead to resolution.

: As I have read and responded throughout the day I have had a fair amount of anxiety at times...ought I say "that" or should I try to present it "this" way, etc. The biggest physiological responses I noted to my anxiety were increased perspiration and I suppose respiration rate. Sort of like stage fright.

: Mostly I find trying to be "right" with regard to others' beliefs or opinions is a waste of time. Do other 5's share this view? However, perhaps part of moving toward "integration" is becoming more willing and able to engage others as we move toward 8.

: For those of you who have engaged/confronted on this board for some time, what utility have you gained from it? I suppose you might've clarified your positions on particular topics, or, as I have done, confronted your unwillingness to confront somewhat, or elicited some insight from another type.

I, too, dislike and try to avoid conflict. Usually, it is pretty unneccesary and won't help me to argue or fight something, if the issue is something frivilous. But if you avoid conflict on important things, some people will walk right over you.
In these cases, you can't avoid it and you have to deal with it, if it really bothers you, or else you might end up taking it out on somene else. I find that I have some trouble with this (Note my Prejudiced Bastard post) Unresolved conflict can put you in a bitter mood.
Although bitching helps me feel better, it rarely solves the problem at hand.
I agree that conflict is a waste of time(most of the time) but you have to deal with it in order to survive in this world.
That's my opinion.
