: : : : : Hayley here: I find it interesting that you assume I am a male. Not so. I also find it interesting that everyone so far has had something to say over my personaltiy type. Is it really so far fetched that I just may be more personable than others? No hard feelings guys I am finding this very intersting to say the least. And thanks for not doubting my intelligence, after all I am from Canada!!

: : : : I haven't said anything about your personality type. Pork hasn't said anything about your type specifically yet. Neither has P. Neither has Rotten Apple. Neither has Mikko. Or Jason M. Or Karen. Or Hannah.

: : : : JP, Cory, and Isaac are the only ones who have commented on it. That's 3 out of 11 people.

: : : : Face it!! Prevailing opinion says that the 9types.com community as a whole thinks you are boring!! We all hate you!! We'd feed you to wild porpoises if we had the chance!! Mwahaha!!!

: : : Prevailing opinion? I only see your name on your comments. Pardon my broad use of the words "you all" Bartholomew. But if you think I am boring because I don't comment on the pronunciation of certain syllables in the English language or post an answer to puzzles, that says more about you than me.

: : First off, it was a joke.

: : But since it was apparently a bad one, I will kill the joke by explaining it. Die, bad joke! Die! Die!

: : Your reasoning was that you were personable because everyone thought your type worth commenting on. Since you didn't give any other reason for your being personable, I humorously took the extreme position that how interesting your personality is depends entirely on how many people try to classify it. So by that twisted logic, since most of the people who responded to you actually DIDN'T comment on your type, you're boring.

: : Again, it was a joke. I didn't mean it to be taken seriously.

: : : Also, if you want to feed me to wild porpoises, you might want to read up on their eating habits.

: : That was part of the joke. That was the reason I thought it would be unmistakably non-serious.

: : : Furthermore, you hate me. I find that disturbing since you don't even know me. Did my one post get under your skin so bad that it evoked these primal feelings? Come on, you're a 5,

: : 6w5.

: : : I'm a 5, we both know ourselves better than that, at least I know I do. And just to be the stereotypical rap listener that I am, not that I asked for anyone's opinion on my musical taste, PEACE OUT!! PS: DId you not read my entire reply? I said no hard feelings and I meant it. As an ENTP, I enjoy a good debate, even if I switch sides to have the competition. It saddens me that the one place where I should fit in I have been ostracized by my own kind. From anyone else this wouldn't faze me, but when it comes from people of like mind it hurts.

: : If this is subtle humor, it's a little TOO subtle. It seems like it could be taken either way. The old perpetuating-and-amplifying-a-humorous-comment-by-pretending-to-take-it-seriously schtick can look a lot like not noticing that there was a joke in the first place, if you don't take care to make the perpetuation ridiculous. I'm not sure which you are doing here.

:
: Bartholomew: Would you believe that I have been described as "defensive"?!?!?!?!?

Sure.

: So sorry to lash out like that, but sometimes I feel like I'm being "attacked" and I think the best way to deal with it is to, well you saw the result!

My post would have been quite insulting if it were serious. From your point of view, it WAS serious. Based on that belief, your reaction was understandable and justified; only the belief was erroneous.

: Anyways on a totally unrelated topic, have you been studying the Enneagram long? Isaac gave me some suggestions for reading, do you have any? Where are you from? I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada.

I've been involved in the Enneagram for about a year now. I wouldn't say that I've been "studying" it; I've just been posting on this site, and picking up Enneagram theory is a by-product of that. I sometimes look up type descriptions online, but I only have one Enneagram book - The Enneagram in Love and Work, by Helen Palmer. I don't know how good it is, as I don't have anything to compare it to, I haven't read much of it, and I don't have much real-world experience with the Enneagram. I mostly only learn as much Enneagram as I need to to engage in debates.

I'm from Massachusetts.

: I have noticed that of all the comments I have read, most people discuss problems etc. on here. DO you guys ever discuss questions like Why are we here? Is there a God? etc? I would really like to hear the opinions of other thinkers. I know that these are mostly philosophical questions and not really related to personality type (or are they?!) but I would still like to discuss.

Yes, we do sometimes do that. I have had several arguments over whether parts of my philosophy are correct or not. I'm not as aware of the other philosophical happenings on the site, but from time to time someone brings up the subject of typing Jesus or God.

: Write me back if you have time, I don't know what your day is like, or even what time zone you are in but you seem like an interesting guy (you are a guy right?!?)

: So sorry once again. I let my emotions take control before I sat down and actually thought about it. I actually thought that I had taken it WAY wrong when I saw the MWAHAHAHA at the end. And I was hopeful that you WOULD know the eating habits of porpoises, wild or domesticated!

: Peace out!! (I never say that, believe me!)

: PS: If you are a 6w5 why do you right on this board? Also, could you tell me a little more about the "w" stuff? I don't really understand, yet.

I consider this board the domain of anyone who wants reasoned discussion about anything. The main board is the domain of anyone who wants any kind of discussion about the Enneagram. The chat board is the domain of anyone who wants any kind of discussion about anything. I'm not sure about the 4 or care boards; I rarely go to either of them.

"w" means "wing." Read 6w5 as 6 wing 5. It means that I have fivish characteristics in addition to my type six motivation.
