Mav, Wings are wings. WHat you are describing are a form subtypes, or rather secondary types. Further, I think you are confusing behavior traits with enneatype. Why do all engineers and scientists have to be 5's? Why are all perfectionists 1's? You are playing fast and loose with the enneatyping system, but then again you are a maverick! :) Dave : Dave,
: Good poitns that I agree with--howevr both Captains and Ryker each have 8 wings. As it is, many times wings develop as a result of the base type. Kirk was inspired by a serious8--Horatio Hornblower--but Shatner is a 3 and wanted to play KIrk more as a 3 and so the subsequesnt character.Picard is a perfectionist driven to change things and that culminates in him developing a huge 8 strweak with which he can channel his 1 energy. He desn't have an 8 wing becasue he's a captain, he's a captain becasue hea has an 8 wing. Finally, Ryker is primarily driven by a need to succeed which created the 8 wing--the best way he could accomplish what his base 3 wanted to accomplish. : Maverick : : : Most Starship captains appear 8-like because their position of captain requires 8 type drive. Therefore, ALL captains and most 1st officersappear 8ish in their role of captain, but that doesn't mean it's their enneatype. : : Also, Starflet is a 1 organization, so that flavor will be there also. : : : : : Interesting and I agree with many but here's mine: : : : TNG: : : : Picard--1w8 with strong 5 traits : : : Ryker--3w8 : : : Data--5w4(no, he doesn't have emotions but he is aware he is unique, he feels he lacks something others have(humanity and emotions), and he desires to be human) : : : LaForge--5w4(he is primarily a thinker--he's an engineer--with a great deal of romanticism and a sense of uniqness and sadness due to his sightlessness) : : : Doc Crusher--2w1(she is primarily concerned with helping others and she has a huge perfectionist and moral streak in her) : : : Worf--1w8 with a 6 streak(he bases his life on honor, duty, loyalty, and order) : : : Troi--9w2 : : : Wes Crusher--5w4(boy genius;travler calls him unique) : : : Barclay(did you know this is the guy who played Murdock on the A-Team?)--5w6(definitely a 6 not a 4 wing;extremely insecure with vicarious counterphobic behavior such as holodeck fantasies) : : : : : : TOS: : : : Kirk:3w8 : : : Spock:5w4(all vulcans are 1's with 5 wings so you have to go past that and look at the individual--Spock is first and foremost a scientist and his 4 wing is evident in his torment over his dual heritage;aside from his natural vulcan oneness oness emerges as a result of his 4 wing as he strives to attain the vulcan purity and seek order in the chaos) : : : McCoy--2w1 : : : Scottie--5w4(first and foremost an engineer--I mean this guy loves his ship--his 4 wing is evident in the way he romanticizes evrything, in his love of booze and women, and his cultivation of his accent;9 traits are appaent largely in his bonding with his ship : : : Uhura:2w1--wasn't characterized enough though : : : Sulu--5w7(first was an astrophysicist;later became a renowned adventurer and captain) : : : Checkov:9 is my assumption but he wasn't characterized enough--need to see some episodes again) : : : : : : DS9: : : : Didn't watch it enough to know : : : Voyager: : : : Janeway:1w2 with huge 8 streak--she is at her core a puristwith a greatd eal of compassion which compels her to lead : : : Chakotay:1w9--primarily a perfectionist concerned with values : : : Paris:7w3--a fun-loving maverick compelled to succeed in order to prove himself : : : Kim:5w6--primarily a scientist : : : Neelix--4w9 or9w4 : : : The Doc--5w4(his defining core is his program like Data but has a 4 wing for same reasons) : : : 7of9:5w8 with 4 traits as she struggles with her identity : : : Maverick
