The five I am on ly tends to get rather "impatient" when facing an individual with high pretention (seven like) and very little knowledge on a specific topic, thus inducing much confusion and simplistic views in the minds of people who listen without knowing enough to discraminate....

Furthermore, arrogance is supported by not needing the confusion of emotional connections and intensity.
: i think we might do well to remember our interpersonnal realm when considering this question. Insecurity in other areas which we may not like to think about much, leads us to jump at opportunities to gain respect.
