It is far easier to assault than an argument, because its parts are not nearly as simply and undeniably linked together as those of a good argument. The more complex and vague phrasing of the explanation allows many false criticisms to be made against it, because the critic does not have the logical links as thrust in his face and unignorable as an argument would do. : Perhaps your criticisms are valid; I did not read them. But valid or not, they are out of place. Save them for when I phrase an actual argument.
But how can you say that your statement "Checking all the premises for truth and all the arguments for validity" is not an argument, but an explanation. You have said that [every check of every premise for truth] is in fact an argument in and of itself. That is the message I got from your post "And the actual argument" earlier in this thread. How this statement is not "an actual argument" but an "explanation" is confusing. And the idea that because it's "just an explanation," that Issac's criticisms are out of place and undeserving of your consideration is ridiculous and avoidant. If you don't feel like making a logical argument, but feel like explaining away the world according to your whimsy, then by all means go ahead. Just don't do it under the pretense of being logical or irrefutable.
