The definition of God is not as simple as you would have it seem in your opinion that "God is Not a metaphor". That "set of things" that equals God
must include the "resurrection" for example, for it not to be a metaphor by Christian standards. You can't prove the resurrection by current scientific methods. You can only hope that is so like any one else. So, you can't justifiably say what the answer is, only ask the question like Bill did (imho). I hope, I don't make you mad I'm just talking (I'm a toss up 9w5).

I think part of the reason people are often concerned about God issues is the thought of death and whether there is some price to pay for admission to the best seats in the house. For that question I checked out Elizabeth Kubler-Ross who spent a lifetime with the near dying and found her books interesting reading on this very topic. remember this is just friendly banter not toe-treading.
