Lte's say, as a true 5, I do get deadly bored by "lieux communs" ie big generalisations loaded with non-conscious emotional projections unless I'm out for a good 8 like fight with words...
Now about Mr Feyman I haven't, I'm sorry read yet, culture lag, he's pretty unheard of here, we're still chewing on post-structuralists,there is one fact I'd like to stress, that is ALL depends on the nature of the subject and what the discussion focuses on. Take for exemple beauty, it is both a highly subjective/relative issue and there is a lot to say in terms of pycho/sociologic research... Don't you agree?

: :Amasingly this is exactly the subject people voted for as a topic at
: the last meeting of our little philosophy club...And the discussion
: of course suffered from a huge lack of precise data and an over
: abundancy of big generalisations...

: Richard Feynman (Nobel prize winner and worker on Manhattan project)
: explained that phenomenon in his hilarious book "Surely you must
: be joking Mr. Feynman." He said that you can only have a discussion about
: something when the parties know little or nothing about the subject.
: If someone really knows about the topic it turns into a lecture or
: teaching session. That's why discussions about religion arise...the
: participants know little or nothing about it, no matter how well schooled
: they are.
