I find the easiest way for me to deal with people in general is to wait for them to approach me. I figure if someone has something to say to me, they'll seek me out. I'd prefer not to have to play guessing games about other people's feelings. I'm generally reluctant to put my own feelings on the line, unless I've already undeniably perceived "signs," especially words (considering they allow for the least misinterpretation). If I was this man, I think I'd be waiting for you to say the word. I prefer to discuss feelings in an objective way, and if he's anything like me as well as truly interested, he'll appreciate that initial approach from you.
