In Reply to: Take it over to the four board, its better than the main board for this question posted by Ping Pong on November 05, 2000 at 18:48:01:

: : This is dependent upon an earlier post of mine, also under the name Anonymous, in which I asked for your input on my personality.

: : I went back through the new test by Tal, answering the questions only according to how I had described my personality on this board. If I had stressed a particular point, then I would put down a strong preference, if I had not stressed but had mentioned a particular point, then i would put down a moderate preference, and if I had forgotten to mention a point, I would put down no preference.

: : My answers did not always agree with what I truly felt about myself, but most of the time they did; the self-description I posted on this board is a fairly good mirror of my personality.

: : Here are my scores:
: : 2 0 3 9 -2 -5 5 -2 -10

: : Okay, the first thing I noticed upon receiving the scores is that the 8 personality is rated -2 for me, about what I would have expected. How come the test rated me so differently from you people? Both the test and the human contributors on this board had the same information.

: : The second thing is that I am a strong four. I received a 9 for four, and my score based on my own self-judgment was 15 for four. None of you mentioned the possibility of my being a four at all.

: : Here are the topics for which I was forced to answer "no preference" to questions relating to them:
: : In control vs. out of control
: : Beliefs and principles (how they work for me)
: : Loose and easygoing vs. ordered and disciplined
: : planning + decisions
: : Moods

: : In total, I think I skipped maybe 10 questions out of the 36 question test. Of course, if I described my personality completely as I see it and used it as a guide in the test, my answers should exactly coincide with the results from my taking the test based on my self-judgment.

: : Are the tests bad? Are you people incompetent? Should I take my problem to the main board and see their opinions on it, or should I just give up trying to make sense of my differring test scores?
