As an extremely-close-to-5 four, I think I'm qualified to tell ya the distinction:

fives have long periods where they are totally flat emotionally, entirely cold and unresponsive.

fours never stop having emotional drama. EVER.

and there the difference lies.

I'm well aware of the wings (5w4 and 4w5) but i'm sure that there is a fundamental difference btwn the two. I can peg most other people, but find it impossible to peg myself. Anyone have a device more black and white?
