Sure, you can define the self as just a series of reactions. The question is, is there a pattern to those reactions or are they just random? If there is a pattern, then you have what can easily be defined as a personality. Denying the "Self" is just saying that you have no control over that personality, which I don't see as being a healthy way of living even if our personalities are indeed determined. Ryan
