BUT the fact that he did it via email makes me think he doesn't want to face you in person (coward) and that MAY mean he is having trouble shutting off the emotion... maybe. Chances are he's completely PANICKED inside. My advice: confront him about it IN PERSON and show him you are (1) secure and (2) try not to be emotional till he gets a grip. Good luck!
