i agree that overall musicality is everything. beinga guitarist, i tend to really tune into the guitar in a band and judge them based almost solely on that. i really love santana, u2, beck, the doors, etc.
but, lyrics are a big thing to me. my all-time favorite band is they might be giants. their lyrics are amazingly good. so 5. i love it.
