Also unfair, was perhaps saying that the other topics were off topic. Probably uncalled for as well. (Please forgive my lacking in tactfulness, it was something I was never very good at, and am still working on.) Some other ideas, : My reasoning: If a Christian-style God exists, he is actively seeking connection to human beings. ***Agree, however, it is a 2 way street. And it is us humans who more often than not are the ones who don't want to do our side of the work to connect with Him - as opposed to the other way around. Then he has to have provided us with the tools to make that connection. (otherwise he's just a sado-masochist, creating beings he wants to connect with and cannot.) So, if the tools are present... our reasoning/intellect (as humans our most developed tool) should lead us to the conclusion of his existence. Mine doesn't... : ***You could be using the wrong tools. Reasoning and intellect are not the only tools He provided us with. : the evidence seems to overwhelming suggest that no active, caring God exists. ***No, He *does*. The evidence is all around us - right in front of us. There may be some pattern or mathematical equation at the heart of the universe but it is impersonal. ***That too is right in fron of us, all around us. The elements of religion with it's promises of eternal life are just too convenient. ***Really? I think if it were that easy, we wouldn't be suffering right now.
