I like that idea about using humor. After all, you want to be with someone with a compatible sense of humor. The thing is, recently I've only seen him for a few minutes at a time--we work out in our community with adults with developmental disabilities, and we see each other when we switch off which clients (the adults with d.d.) we're with. We do see each other for a couple of hours during weekly staff meetings, but he hasn't come to them recently. He's going to start attending them again soon, though. I've joked with him a little bit already, and yes, it has been a bit of a rush for me--I guess I feel like he can tell I'm flirting with him when I joke with him, which fits in with what you're saying.
