I had this same confusion when I was first exposed to the enneagram. It is relatively simple to resolve. How often are you angry? Do you find a lot of your internal focus is on how people (like co-workers) are lazy slackers?
As a 5, I am very occasionally angry but am much more frequently bored. And I am much more open-minded than my 1 friends tend to be. Also I only express anger with people I am quite comfortable with, and otherwise avoid confrontation like the plague. 1's I know tend to not mind confrontation so much, although they are not drawn toward it the way 8's are.
