What the heck is an arrow?

I already explained to Perceiver why Tiger is not a 9, now I'll explain to you why he is a 3.

He's constantly trying to live up to his potential. He has a lot of 3ish energy and confidence. He participates in his sport with a lot of passion. He's much more charismatic than most 9s are. He's completely "in" to his work, it's hard for him not to talk about golf. He's very aware of how others respond to him, especially the media. Most of all, no matter how good he is, he's always trying to be better and improve himself.

The three is called "The Motivator" by Riso, and it's easy to see that Tiger relishes his role as a motivator for young and minority golfers. His four wing is very strong, though, more than Jordan's. To paraphrase Riso, he has the competiveness of the three yet also a deep-seated self-doubt evident of the four type. This shows through his emotional outbursts when he doesn't play up to his perceived ability.

The problem with discussing the E3 personality is that many authors seem to like to talk about "narcissism." While Tiger may not seem very narcissistic (I argue it's subtle), I would say that it's better to define the 3 as being very "image conscious" than narcissistic. Tiger places his self worth, his "narcissism" you could say, in his golf game, not in his looks or clothing like how one might stereotype the three. That is his image. You have to understand that a three can just as easily be a rocket scientist in spectacles with one cheap tie he wears everyday. He doesn't care how he looks, but he has to seem to be the most intelligent rocket scientist among his colleagues. This is 3ish behavior too.

Once again, all behavior based observations. But until I hear some good counter arguments, I'll stick to my guns.

Ryan
