I don't have to pay health insurance OR pay to see a doctor. I think it's outrageous. I new you had to pay for hospital cover in the States but I had no idea you had to pay just to go to your doctor. I know a lot of consumables are cheaper in the US, but I think I prefer our system where the whole community is looked after - after all it's only creating problems for society as a whole if its citizens are ill. People here are quite happy to pay extra taxes to cover healthcare, even though they know that a lot of it is spent on the elderly and weaker members of society. How on earth does someone get medical insurance if they have had a collapsed lung or suchlike all their life?
