An abortion flame war. We never have any of these in this country. I think abortion is a vile and reprehensible act. Yet, I will never tell a woman that she must have MY child, let alone tell any woman having someone else's child that she has no right to make a choice in the matter of her own body. I know nothing of the pain and trauma of the whole gestation and childbirth process, and that is why I leave the argument to women. Yes, Cory, this does make me pro-choice technically. My own "logical" argument is that a fetus is literally physically dependent upon its mother for survival and therefore its rights are subordinate to its mothers rights. I would HOPE that all mothers would make the less painful choice and bear the child if its possible for that child to have a good home through its family or through adoption. But keep in mind that there is a huge problem with overpopulation in the world and that there is no greater sorrow than an unwanted child. Comparing abortion to the Holocaust is like comparing two different fruits, one that is round and red and the other that is round but orange.
