Enneagram Main Board Archive Which is the core self? MBTI or Enneagram?Posted by Morgan on December 28, 1999 at 18:35:01: I've read two theories about the relationship between MBTI and Enneagram. The first is that MBTI is the true ("core") self. However, early in life, we hear messages that our MBTI types are somehow unlovable. Thus, we use Enneagrams as defense mechanisms to earn love. The second is that the Enneagram is the core self, and that core self strives for one thing-love. MBTI type is how we get that love. So what do you think?
