The MB Can't be a "core self", since it does not deal with motivation. It deals with observable behavior, that is why MB typing is extremely easy in contrast with enneagram typing. Also, if the enneagram is used to describe observable traits, it is somewhat redundant since you already have the MB to describe that. It's better to have both systems describe something different than overlap like that.
