MB analyzes your ways of dealing with the things in your life, including your motivation (which the enneagram covers). they're habits, as such, and bear far more upon your behavior than your enneatype does.

a 3 might get caught up in believing that "doing things" is, in essence, "the core." that's just a guess.

as far as the "appealing for love" pretense game goes, your enneatype might cover some fine particulars of the "whys" and some "whats" concerning the desired "love"; your MB type might cover the "hows" more - your habits, strategies, etc.
