What's my motivation in posting that :

We have all been hurt more than ones by people are of a different types than ours.
I personaly found that a good, elegant and efficient way to work out of those negative inprints generating strong subconscious fear of being hurt again ( for that creates a strong compultion to "judge" in order to protect ourselves )is to get to know well and love ( no romance, just genuine feelings) evolved representatives of the types "critical" to us. I have applied it to myself in the case of 8's : in the past, I had shared a few years of my life with a unhealthy, prone to violence 8, and that did some subconscious damage to me. Yet, getting to become a close friend with an evolved genuine 8 has healed it and also tremendiously helped me integrate that part of myself.I also have a very healthy, human 6 friend coaching me on that part too, so damned helpful...

Yet, this type of very powerful "learning through modelising" requires some prerequisites : we only learn if we can "identify" with our model. It is like reading a good novel where the caracters are so neatly described that we get caught in it and can't help but love them, this is the way it works... That is why I asked for references of autobiographies or in depth interviews. And most Enneagram books mention names for the sole purpose of illustrating the type, a lot of those names refer to rather unheathy people and there is not most of the time any available information about them ( auto biographies or interviews). Biographies writen by some one else won't work for the purpose of modelising.
