There is nothing wrong with learning from others. I am a strong supporter of integration theory.
I think I took the word "modeling" a bit too literally...I got the impression she meant "imitation". I really don't want to be a second rate Martin Luther King, Jr. or anyone else I particularly admire, but I have learned a lot from them. What I meant is that I don't want to adopt their personalities, but to somehow make what I admire about them a part of me. If this is what Laurence means, then I'm OK with this.
