: Is this "hunger for new experiences" equivalent to "boredom with existing
: reality"? I have often been accused of losing interest in things. Would daydreaming
: about a better place to live, a better job, better friends be a Sevenish trait?
AIUI, Yes.
: One problem I have typing myself as a Seven is that I don't party, or eat a
: lot, or search for sensation in this escapist way...
Again, as I understand it, this is an area in which there is a lot of understanding.
Eights are more likely to party (especially with loud music), eat a lot, and drink a lot than Sevens are.
Sevens may eat comfort food, but they are really a more cerebral and imaginative type.
An Eight enneagram teacher (Karen Webb, who is married to a Seven) described the difference at a
workshop thus:
A Seven and an Eight have a limited drinks budget for a party. (Ok - it's pretty unlikely that a Seven
and an Eight would have a limited drinks budget for a party. :) ) The Seven will buy two or three
different really nice wines, and possibly some cheese as well. The Eight will buy as much cheap wine as
possible because you don't want the drink to run out.
