There are two ways to motivate humans to behave in a desired manner... 1. Penalize and punish. 2. Persuade and promote. # 1. uses negative reinforcement. It is the foundation of our criminal justice system. crime and punishment. or in a soccer game, break a rule and the other team gets a penalty kick. # 2. uses positive reinforcement. It motivates people on a more humane level. For example if you do this, you will earn this. Highlights the benifits of cooperation, and goodness. NF's and SJ's typically assume cooperative leadership roles in the world. Take this board for instance!!!! NF's tend to use and respond to #2 method. SJ's to #1 method. NT's and SP's are the innovators, creators and performers of the world. Like I said before in the first couple years 99% of posts were enneagram related and intellegenly worded. People had pride in what they wrote. Somehow that changed. My question is does moderation encourage deviance? The ISTJ life task is to note standards of conduct, correct deviations, then keep a vigilant eye for more. This is analogous to an NT's life quest for perfection in systems. An SJ's motivation is societies upkeep and preservation. An NT's motivation is to unlock the secrets of nature in order to tame it. And by nature I mean the nature of reality and the tangable rules which govern it.
