> I still think it's a bit limited. Birth order in itself doesn't say much. It's apart of something larger and more important in shaping your life - familial influence. You have to also factor in religious beliefs, how the parents treated the children, socio-economic status, etc.

It helps if you are looking at an average type family.

Its funny, probably 99% of the population looks at the cultural/racial and socio-economic aspects. These are
more tangable than personality systems.
I will say birth order is more inate than MB or enneagram. Its brought up in conversations, in magaazines, etc.

> Ok, there's probably a difference between 1st and 2nd borns....but what about between the 8th and 9th born in 12-children families? Or do they just get lumped in with the "middle" crowd?

YOu didn't read the whole web page I listed, and neither did my other two
respondants. If you guys did, you'd have educated responses, and not be
shooting off the hip to say birth order is BS. Yes?

> Undoubtedly, our birth order plays a role in our personality, but most likely not the determining factor. By the way, have you read Adler?

Yes. Too pessimistic. Reminicant of the old school psycology. He does have some
interesting theories like the ghost child phenomenon.
