What Laurence says is true. Each of the E-types can be seen as the oppostite of any of the others, depending on what particular aspect you're looking at.
I worked this out one day when finding some overlap between two types, I went on to discover that there were areas of overlap between all the types. I then went on to look at contrast between the types, and found that each type had a area of contrast with each other type depending, again, on what particular area you are looking at.
For example, Similarity - Fours and Fives both like to explore the big picture, though they do have differences in their approach to this.
Opposite - Fours tend to be ruled by their hearts and Fives by their heads, allegedly.
For example, Similarity - Eights and Twos are both protective of people.
Opposite - Eights make themselves dominant directly, while Twos make themselves dominant indirectly.
