I agree with you that the problems we encounter in life arise from our dualistic view of life- mind/matter, body/soul, matter/antimatter, space/time, macro/micro, relativity/quantum, man/woman, you/me The wholistic view is hard to attain for human beings because we are in illusion on account of living in a mechanistic world working according to Newton's laws, which are not incorrect, except that they are insufficient. The quantum world operates in entirely different ways. The scientific world is making attempts to unite the two worlds and come up with the Law of Everything. (I guess Briane Greene is the latest physicist to emphasize superstring theory.) Most scientists and mystics have an insight into a wholistic cosmos, I am sure; the problem is for us laymen to be able to comprehend it. I believe that when we can really understand the fabric of space-time in which the past, present, and the future already exist "in toto" and when the Law of Everything becomes an everyday life, we will be able to comprehend the Whole, the Unity. No more wars and fights then. Complete understanding and acceptance. But since Yin and Yang are also engrained in our existence, human beings probably will never reach the above state of insight. Gigi P.S. JFive, I had a chance to look through the book The Diamond Approach by Almaas you recommended to me some time ago. (Could not find Wolinsky's books yet) This book is too spiritualistic for my liking. If I had time for everything I could have gone through it more carefully.
