I'll make some general comments here to this whole cluster
of posts about the male female issue. the ancients had some sort of psychologically well-rounded
understanding of the fairy tale side of numbers and math. One thing
that comes up is that there is some sort of progressively
deepening understanding of reality that comes from the analogical
relation of numbers like one, three, seven, etc. It takes thinking
in 'three-ness' to reconcile seemingly impossible dualistic
oppositions at the level of 'two-ness'. One facet of the application of that idea to this posting theme
cluster that comes to mind quickly is what is indicated by
William Sheldon's work on body typing. He was developing
toward the idea that, (to put it in terms of the head, heart, and gut
centers of the egram), men and women have parity in the
head center, BUT that men's cells and systems "round up" for
mesomorphy or heart center and round down for endomorphy
or gut center. And women do vice versa. It sort of means
that if you take, like Noah's two by two into the ark, various pairs
of male and female mating couples selected according to
972 'body-types' so that each person in any particular
mating couple has the exact same body type as their mate
(of the 972 possible types), differences between the male
and female in each pair will be relative to that rounding up or down
for one of the two components (heart, gut) that is typical
to the male and female in general. This can be extrapolated
to the personality type tendencies of males toward mesomorphy
and of women toward endomorphy which is related to biological
function as mothers, etc. For those who don't know, let me just
say in passing that I am talking here about the clusters made
by Sheldon of the dozen or so primary, basic attributes that are
common to the gut personality and body, the heart personality and...
etc., etc. This is the basic idea that that pop psych guy is getting
at with men are from mars and women are from venus. ~j5
