At about age 6 I had a nightmare: a train was chasing me and I could not escape.
It frightened me at that time. Over the years the dream recurred a few times
each year. I felt more puzzled than afraid. Later, I did art therapy and the
dream recurred again but with a different ending. I realized that I could
step out of the train's path and it would go right by me. I told my therapist
that the train represented powerful emotions. A few weeks later, the dream
occrred once more. This time The train stopped and I climbed into the cab
and became the "engineer." I was in charge of the powerful emotions. there
is more, but that is the essence. I am an INTJ. At midlife I finally dealt
with the SF aspect. The dream never visited me again. I would classify it as
an anxiety dream; feelings made me anxious, especially ANGRY feelings.
Then there was the premonition dream about an acquaintance's death. Her death
happened while I was dreaming it 3000 miles away. That's another story.
