Kronus; Yeah, I admit to a poor word choice. My inference was that thinking and feeling about something is not the same as being that something, i.e., embodying 'it' viscerally. Pausing to ponder a concept or reflecting on feelings about an action is not the same as being the concept or action. An example is feeling angry and being angry. Thinking/doing angry things versus being angry. My limited knowledge or fours and movement leads me to believe that a four might think they are mad or might feel that they are mad without actually being mad in a visceral way that becomes an action response. (substitute some other emotion for angry if you want.) Four does not become one, they "own" the thought and feeling in a gut sense that can lead to responsible action. I am not implying fours think/feel happy, sad, mad,'fraid when they are not; rather, that when they think/feel happy, sad, mad,'fraid they may not be experiencing or embodying the thought/feeling. That's why we do not always know the inner state of a four much to their amazement and consternation. The Koan part ( I acknowledge poor choice of words again) referred not to the going/moving aspect of arrow direction. Rather that reflecting on the phrase was counterproductive. There is no answer to "being," there is only "being." I do not think that there is an answer to the sound of one hand clapping or the weight of a turtle's hair. Hoping for an answer, i.e., the "sound" or the "weight" would miss the point, I believe. So would waiting for the right thought or feeling to arrive so oneness would be experienced. I know little about Zen, and actually deleted the posting in my frustration over my malfuctioning PC/ software. I am surprised it made it to the BB. I do stand by my opinion that the antidote to most fixations requires getting outside the box for that type. Using the fixation as the antidote is using the fixation. Not using the fixation is counterintuitive, ego-alien, diffferent, or some other more precise term. I am an NT and while my analogies are always wonderful to me, I realize others do not buy into my hubris. Sigh(4,) or rather, who cares(9.)
