Hal, This is somewhat imprecise because desribing a sunset is not the same as experiencing a sunset. I am in agreement that for a four, feeling is being. That is one of the points made by the E,gr. It can become a fixation wherein feeling is equated with being to the exclusion of willful intent. Likewise, thinking can be equated with being (or feeling.) The limited point that I am making is that there are three "intelligences." Focusing on one or two of them is a fixation. The antidote is the third "intelligence." It varies with the type and the fixation. This is not news to any of us, but sometimes we overlook/underestimate the bias presented by the window we are looking out of. While emotion/value/feeling is/are equally important to living, not all of us equate it with being to the extent that a four does. Moing away from life as we know it is defended against. My guess is that for a four, that movement is a sad one and feels , perhaps, somewhat common or ordinary. For me, a comparable experience would be to avoid responding (action, conation), because I will experience the tension of willfully having revealed through action that my thoughts and feelings do not coincide with an "other." My process is different than yours. To return to my Sunset analogy, verbalization is helpful but inadequate. One of the beauties of E'gr is that it affords each type and all types a mirror and a map. Explaining another type to that type is not possible. We can only offer the view we see out our window and what our motivation might be under the circumstances. In terms of primary colors: red, yellow, blue. If you omit one color you are limited in your potential palette. Add the missing color and the possibilities increase dramtically. Adding the color is not the same as trying to become the color. That's it, my best attempt to point out what I am sure you already realize. Well, why didn't I say so. That's part of the point. Nines don't "say so." It's not worth the effort, willful intentional effort. Now, I must get back to completing my 1997 tax return because the extension expires today.
