: "kind of denied reality and the seriousness or her situation because it didn't fit into her version of reality."

: This message was posted on the movie board about Ruth (she was perceived to be a 1w9) on Titanic. Whether or not Ruth is a 1w9, this struck a chord in me about my mother. I keep beating my head against a wall to get her to confront simple truths about people in general (emotional issues), and cannot get anything out of that woman. When I press her - she gives me the "You must hate me" routine. (1w2?) How do you get emotional honesty from a 1? Geenius?

>>The main reason I wrote that is Titanic Ruths behavior was reminicant of my former fiance, a 1w9 ENFJ. Denying reality that is. My former
>>was unhealthy in her past and she couldn't see the hypocracy of her behaviors. If I knew then the emotional rollercoaster that relationship
>>would take my on I never would have entered into it. I also learned about the ENFJ's - that crap about them being into weird stuff, unexplainable
>>stuff like omens, curses, etc. that shit may be true. Science yet has to explain a fraction of reality, so who knows? I'm a realist but
>>some stuff defied rational explainations.
>>Fours are kind of a trip. I guess they can see stuff others can't. A female four I'm aquainted with out of the blue deduced my life problem as
>>"being afraid" (I'm a 6). And also the low points of INTJ, even though she doesn't know what that means.
>>Fours then have the ability to shake things up as they can get inside you. They deal with the stuff ones block out and can't handle. Especially
>>SJ ones. Neither 1 nor 4 is 'bad', they just see things radically different. I have no advice for your mother and you. I do know that 1w2 can
>>be a nightmare to deal with when they are unhealthy. Take heart, at least you're an INFJ!
