Enneagram Main Board Archive I think you know it.... :)Posted by Freddie on January 01, 2001 at 17:12:31: In Reply to: You need help Freddie posted by K.B. on January 01, 2001 at 15:43:16: Dearest Big Al, The way you evade responsibility for your side of this exchange reveals it all... You realize that we're alike, and I've been holding a mirror up to the part of your unflattering face that you would rather hide. I've even gotten you to reveal it sporadically, though you're getting nastier, more bigoted, more self-righteous, and more DESPERATELY injurious every time you post - you've been staring with rage and disgust into the well, and the sickly reflection within is staring right back. I may not look like a fat middle-aged postal clerk with a stiffy on the outside, but appearances are superficial. What am I denying? That I'm insane and disturbed? I indicated that about eleven times in my last post, and I admit it here, too. That's a strange way of denying it, don't you think? I go to security point 1 so easily because I am unique and have always been. I don't need to try. I'm at my best when I'm like this - unfettered, I stand by the gregarious resources of my mind, my heart, my spirit, and my attitude. If I wanted to be liked by you, you would know it. You will like those who reflect the best in you, and you will hate those who reflect the worst in you. If they do neither, you will feel apathetic toward them. Your feelings toward others reflect your feelings toward yourself. Your soulmate from heaven will create in you a burning desire to endear yourself to them. Your soulmate from hell will incite you to make such overstatements as "You are the lowest piece of garbage I have ever encountered on any posting board anywhere." When such statements become so overblown as to be almost comical, then I know we've hit upon something. That's one of the great psychological principles - it's been called "the mirror principle," "self-projection," and numerous other things in everyday conversation. And I'm well aware of it. If you happen to be aware of it yourself, and if you're under the misapprehension that I'm not aware of it, forget it. I am. If you're not aware of it, you'd better change that. Ciao.... Freddie
