It seems that there are two opposing reasons
to choosing a religion. One could
a. Choose a religion that reflects one's own
values.
b. Choose a religion that provides balance, i.e.
compensates for what one lacks innately.
For example, I met a 9 who was a Buddhist. Presumably
he found Buddhism's detachment to affirm his own values.
But I'm also a 9, and I rejected Buddhism, because I thought
I could be plenty detached without any additional help, i.e. I
was looking for something else to balance myself. (Though
this was almost 10 years ago, and I might react differently today).
Methodism looks 1-like to me (although I don't know it
very well), and Hillary Clinton is Methodist, so that
seems like another confluent personality-religion example.
I agree that the more dominant religions probably find ways
to appeal to everybody. But I have a hard time picturing
a very religious 5, although this is probably because I have
yet to see it myself.
