I actually doubt it all the time. I do think there are many flaws
in the Enneagram. But it also has many useful insights that I don't
get elsewhere. Yes, you're right the model does need more testing,
and some people are doing that (but we need more). You could help
us do that, if you want to really disprove the Enneagram.
I have read about some of the other academic theories,
(e.g. the Big Five model). However rigorously they have been
tested, they simply do not describe people I know very well.
Like you, I also thought MBTI was hugely incomplete. But I
don't know the whole literature. If you have something you
think is much better, by all means let us know. As I said,
I think the E-gram is also incomplete, and you may very
well be onto something better, you just didn't specify what.
