I do everything I can to avoid family functions and have moved away from my family and have little contact except for letter writing and sending Christmas cards.
Being with my family is smothering and a bit threatening, for which there is no logical explanation. Finding my natural mother was of no help. I also avoid her emotionally and don't correspond with her.
