Well, I should find out where my birthmother lives this weekend (fingers crossed). I am able
to socialize with my adoptive parents, tho my mom (Type 2!) always interrupts me every 5 minutes
for the first 2-3 days or so, usually when I am engrossed in a book or TV show. :) I am able to
escape often enough to keep it from draining me. Plus at least my dad an I share the same kind
of gentle needling humor, and can kind of whipsaw my poor mom to death between the two of us! All
in good fun of course.....It may be that you are not ready to connect with your birthmother (tho
I admittedly don't know enough about your situation); in my case I am about as ready as I can ever
be, even tho she may be a bitch, sweetheart, anything in between, or even (ghod forbid) deceased (she is 57 this year).
