I am also a 4w3, and I don't relate either. In my experience, the situation that matches that description as closely as I can recall is the tendency of type 4 to take the "stress" path (c2c8), in which an individual might try to alienate people, or build a mental wall around him/her self, and shun the people who, perhaps, have failed to satisfy the 4's "instinctual needs." Assuming this would involve assuming that the 4 component goes to 2 (seeking fulfillment from people), which in turn goes to 8 (turning against people who will not provide fulfillment, and vying for independence). A simpler explanation for the whole process is that perhaps, when a person's wing energy is irritated, it tends to "take over" the primary component type. This would make sense because the 5 component is driven by the passion of greed (or, the compulsion to hoard), and when a 4w5's 5 component is unsatisfied, it might tend to go to extremes. I don't really know where to go from here. The only thing that comes to mind is that there is a significant difference between 4w3 and 4w5. One 9gram author stated that, at first glance, these two subtypes don't even resemble each other. From personal experience so far, I would agree. Still, I thought Gui's observation was interesting and thought-provoking, if somewhat vague and open to broad interpretation. Am I on the right track?
