wow, there is a lot to digest, and I was not asked for an opinion. My contribution: about fours; if another type gets respectfully close to a four they will experience life on a emotional level of intensity previously unimaginable. For some this may seem theatrical, for others it is the difference between being asleep and being alive. Fours arouse passion. That is their gift. Going to one means using the gift responsibly, not seductively nor manipulatively. i.e., go to 1 not 2. Contentment with possibilities, but determination to improve for the benefit of others. About Sevens: motivation seems to me to be about acceptance. That's were the con comes in. Exuding confident optimism and seeking acceptance of a plan (fantasy,) 7s take us in at our own request. They feel confused when confronted because it was obvious to them that we feared risk. The 7 took the chance for us. We got what we wanted (no risk,) now we complain. Going to 5 implies seeing the gift (persusive seduction) and using it responsibly. This means disclaimers. I have a DREAM. I have a PLAN. It will take real WORK (8.) This is internal acceptance for a 7 instead of external acceptance. (The 7 buys into it and acts upon it, rather than some 'other' buys into it and goes broke acting upon it. ( as an aside, this is why some of us, in the minority, see 7 as dependent. An external is needed to "buy' into acceptance until 7 goes to 5, then 8, .... but I digress.) Gluttony refers to the insatiable aspect of 7 seeking external acceptance. Nothing will suffice. It is a spiritual (internal) issue and therefore painful. Paradox. Pedantry: The centers are variously described as head, heart, gut or thinking, feeling, being, or cognition, emotion, conation, or doing, emoting, viscerating. Just as 4 equates feeling with being, so can a 'head type' equate doing with being. That is the fixation. And to be fair, a gut type can confuse 'being' with 'living.' we all know that life calls upon all resources, not just our favorite. Now, where did I put my hammer. I see a nail over there, and I just want to hammer it!
