Anecdotedly, I suspect a loose connection with other attributes. I
also suspect that humans lack the perception to reliably assess "aroma."
I suffered terribly from B.O. until I found the right antibacterial cleaser
(Rx only.) I have been shocked by women who say "I love the way you smell."
Others are repulsed. It must convey different meanings to different inhalers. Maybe it is molecular. The perfume companies would not have missed out on relevant data, but dogs and cats seem to pay attention in a
way we do not. Perhaps Anger, fear, confidence have different effects on
the endocrineand apocrine systems. That would suggest neurotransmitters,
The types may be loosely associated with Seritonin, Dopamine, Norepinepherine. That might be the ubderlying link. Interesting conjecture
on my part. Nares flare when we are aroused. Snort!
