No, it's a direct result of my sixishness. Fives are neither conformist nor non-conformist; they deal with information, which may do either, so that's not where it's coming from.

My INTX (not always INTJ, and nowadays I consistently test as INTP) type is just a description of how I happen to deal with the world. It does not CAUSE anything; it's like a temperature reading. The thermometer does not cause the fire.

That leaves the type 6 motivation for the reason why I often like to be non-conformist.
