: A sixes worst nightmare is being abandoned and alone and
: unable to make a firm and decisive decision. The kind of
: hell and anxiety a six goes through may be incomprehensible
: to other types. Even in say a calm social gathering. If
: the six looks startled and anxious on the outside, their guts
: are being wrenched inside. Its similar to being terrified by
: a bully (albeit an invisble, nameless one) and you cannot take
: any action. Does this sound like paranoia? It is!
: It has nothing to do with self image or emotion (like a 4).
: Thats why when someone can give the six a way out of the anxiety
: they are forever grateful and show this by loyalty. The important
: thing is not to become dependant, but interdependant.
: A sixes saving grace is taking action, and a move to three is
: not necessarily bad. MOving to nine is relaxing, but one truly
: becomes lazy.

Nice summary. Moving to 9 also implies faith in "going with the flow" while actively working.

: I've always had a hard time understanding the fixation of the one.
: As I understand it ones are afraid of being critized and condemned
: by a mean old man because their fathers rode their butts as children.
: This is opposite six who identified with the father. ANy comments,
: Ones?

6's are afraid of criticism and condemnation. For 6 it's because they fear that there is a destructive punishment from the outside world or forces or their superego (ie. whoever's in charge) as a result of it.

1's aren't afraid as much of criticism and condemnation from others as they are from it coming from their own inner critic, inner standard, or inner parent. 1's anxiety stem from their demands upon themselves, that mistakes leads them to punish themselves as it is contrary to their self-image and superego.

I'm not a 1, but "some of my closest friends and family are".
