So, what is the reason that eights don't want others to have power over them? Is it because they are still protecting that inner-child who was emotionally injured when he/she showed their vulnerable side? Are they afraid of falling in love for this reason - does love make them feel too exposed and vulnerable to the possibility of being hurt?

I'm not as worried anymore about what may happen in a few weeks when I contact my friend. This chatroom has helped me see some things a little differently. However, having said that, he really, really was angry with me and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. I don't intend to give up on him. He will have to be the one to call it quits.
