I think that the diversity of the responses reflect the diversity and
perhaps the ambiguity of what constitutes the intangible quality of
Charisma. Much like ' beauty is in the eye of the beholder' Charisms
are gifts people possess but require acceptance to be experienced by both
giver and receiver. My bias is that the manifestation of 'spirit' in any
form can be Charismatic. One authentically embodies a belief and people
respond. The problem is that the recipient can be deceived, either inentionally
or unintentionally. Someone said sevens are charming; that is what
ego-charl is about. I think all types are gifted and when going against
the arrow, are charismatic. People respond to Mother Theresa, Lee Iaccoca,
Eleanor Roosevelt, George Patton, etc., etc., because they see a quality
they value. When the gift projected is authentic, and a diverse number of
individuals are captivated and motivated by that gift, I say the person is
charismatic. Otherwise, maybe, I alone find them charismatic (gifted.)
My bible is not at hand, but I recall that the gifts of the holy spirit are
called Charisms. Charismatic Christians have gifts which other believers
accept as signs of Christ's presence in the individual(s.) Now don't flame
me about tongues, or snakes. I am saying gift, giver, recipient = charism.
IMO.
